Microblading or powder brows: which suits you?
Two techniques, two very different finishes. How skin type, routine and the look you want decide between them.

They are the two questions we hear most often in the treatment room: what is the difference, and which one should I choose? The honest answer is that neither technique is better in itself. There is the right one for your skin, for your routine and for the look you want to see in the mirror.
Microblading: hair strokes drawn by hand
Microblading is done with a manual tool that places pigment in very fine strokes, one beside the other, following the direction of your natural hairs. It is the more discreet of the two: up close you can read the individual strokes, as in a real brow.
It does best on normal to dry skin, where each stroke stays crisp as it heals.
Powder brows: a soft, shaded finish
Powder brows are done with a machine that places pigment in tiny dots, building a soft gradient: lighter at the front, fuller towards the tail. The result looks like a brow filled in with powder.
They are the better choice for oily or combination skin, where a fine stroke tends to blur, and for anyone who likes a more defined look.
Which way to lean
- Oily skin or visible pores? Usually powder brows.
- Full brows that only need filling in here and there? Microblading is often enough.
- Do you fill them in with a pencil every morning? Powder brows give you that look, without the pencil.
- Want nobody to notice a thing? Microblading is the more discreet technique.
Both are semi-permanent: the colour softens over time, and the work is usually completed with a touch-up a few weeks after the first session.
Before any pigment, we draw the shape on your face together, measured and adjusted until you are happy with it. The technique comes after, in consultation, once we have looked at your skin up close.
